Our first week back was great. We spent some quality time talking about how we wanted to be treated by others, how we thought the teacher would want to be treated and how we would want to be treated during conflict. After many discussions, we came to a consensus and created a new social contract for the 2019. We all signed the contract and it will be posted in our classroom for the rest of the year. This is a promise to be the best we can be and it is very much like being in a family where everyone is responsible for taking care of each other. William surprised the class by sharing his penguin character and story which we really enjoyed because we have been busy researching about penguins this week. Our counselor, Mrs. Hougham also came in to teach us about using kind words with our friends because words that are not kind can hurt others. It was a very good first week back and it was exciting to see our FRIENDS!
