It's hard to believe we are beginning a new year! It is so exciting to have a fresh start. I can't wait to begin a new semester and I'm looking forward to seeing the kids in the morning. In science we are learning about how the weather changes from season to season. We will continue to learn to add two groups of numbers in math. We are also working on counting to 100, counting backwards from 20 and idenifying our numbers to 20. We will continue our guided reading groups and I will send home a new reading book for your child on Friday. We will be setting some goals for the new year and writing some resolutions. Our German lessons will continue this month. We have also been coding in the computer lab and checking out the wonderful kindergarten websites for learning. Comet club begins next week, which includes intervention groups for kids that need a little boost in either reading or math. This will be done across all kindergarten classes. STEAM night is coming up on Thursday, January 12th. We have been doing a big study on Goldilocks and have been busy designing and building beds and chairs for Goldilocks. We will finish this project this week and even retell the story of Goldilocks with puppets. On STEAM night, families are invited to come to Canyon Creek to see all of the exciting exhibits in our classrooms and there will be materials out for building that night as well. I hope you can make it! I've included some pictures from our winter party. We had a wonderful time thanks to our room mothers, Mrs. Molina and Mrs. O'Leary! Thank you for the wonderful gifts. I feel very lucky to be a part of your child's learning. Happy New Year! |
