We made a chemical reaction with Alka-seltzer and water today. This kids thought that using a smaller amount of water and Alka-seltzer produced the biggest reaction because there was more room in the film canisters for pressure to build up. They could see the bubbles forming and fizzing out from under the lids! We were so glad we were wearing our protective eye wear today! Science really can be fun and exciting!

We made Jello together to watch the changes from a solid to a liquid. We realized that the cold air from the refrigerator changed our experiment back into a solid! It was quite a delicious experiment! See these happy scientists?
The kids worked in groups deciding together how much water, light, and air they wanted to expose their bread to. Some of the bread turned hard, and some grew a lot of fungus! This was so exciting! Dear Parents,
The kids worked in groups to decide how much moisture, light, and air would be needed to grow fungus. Each group has decided on different conditions for their experiment. We will be checking on our experiment to see what happens! I will be adding a list of our "Star Students" to it's own page on this website. That is when your child brings in a poster on Monday and shares it with the class. We always write to our star student on Fridays and parents are encouraged to come in to read to the class during their special week. I will be doing reading assessments next week with each child and will share your child's results at open house on October 6th at 6:00. Thank you for all of the wonderful snacks and ice water sent from home. It has sure made our days much easier! Warm Regards, Mrs. Carneiro |
