Don't forget that tomorrow is field day! The kids need to have sunscreen applied, a hat and a complete change of clothing just in case they get wet playing games outside. We are going to have a wonderful and exciting time together. There is also a barbecue lunch tomorrow! Here we are singing to our moms!We have celebrated a lot of birthdays lately! Our author study of Mo Willems has been so exciting for reading time. The kids love to read all of his books and even painted one of their favorite characters, the pigeon! We also wrote about our wishes last week, learned the names of 4 different coins and shared important facts about each. Your child's report card will include a note from the kindergarten team with tips for educational activities for the summer. It will be very hard for me to say good-bye on Thursday but I look forward to seeing my students down the hall next year!
Harvesting our vegetables from our garden was really exciting. The jalepenos and cilantro grew so we were able to use them to make our salsa. There were 4 classes in the science lab and that was a pretty big crowd! But we were able to make all 4 batches of salsa and the kids tasted it with chips to make sure it tasted good.We danced, we laughed, we kissed the babies and enjoyed seeing all of our families. Nobody wanted the party to end!It was nice to spend some time with our friends too.We were so touched to find out some sweet parents swept in and cleaned up the party so we could go home. What a nice surprise! We have been enamored with our pinto bean plants and check them often with a "scientist's eye"...We sorted life cycles for different types of plants in teams.Kindergarten is just finishing our ocean animal research and presenting what we've learned in teams. Here are some of our other writing projects! |
