Kindergarten has been very excited about our new gardens behind the playground! We worked hard to plant our cilantro seeds and our small jalapeno plants on Wednesday. Here are a few pictures for you! I want to send a shout out to Mrs. Rachal, who bought our class a number of watering cans and also volunteered to help us plant. In addition, Miles' mother, Mrs. Khaja came to help as well. The teachers have been planning this activity for a while and it was exciting to see it all happen. We were able to water our plants on Friday and check for any changes to the garden. We have been making entries into our science notebooks labeling part plants. We have also been on a leaf hunt and compared out leaves by sorting them by their attributes. I almost forgot to tell you that we tried salsa this week and voted on if we like it or not. Only 4 kids did not care for it. We made a graph about it. The next day, we checked out a salsa recipe and wrote down the ingredients so we can make some salsa in May when our garden is done growing. Now that is something to look forward to!
